Cat age comparison chart!

Have you ever wondered how your cat's age compares with yours? Well, here's a handy comparison chart!

How cat ages compare with human ages

Hamish - the oldest cat we ever rehomed!
The oldest cat we took in and rehomed was a chap called Hamish, who was aged 26 in 2005!

One of our volunteers kindly adopted him, and in 2008 he'll have his 29th birthday. He's off the chart and probably aged around 115 in human terms!

In his short time at the Sanctuary we began to let him walk outside. Because of his decrepit appearance at the time, and despite having just one eye, we expected him to be wary of our house cats and sanctuary cats. Not a bit of it! He was the boss.

Now he's living in a loving home he's still going strong, though at 115 years old in human terms he's entitled to look a bit old and wrinkled. He visits us every year for his vaccinations and still marches around as though he owns the place!

Hamish was even featured on the front page of our local newspaper in 2005.
