Mickey finds a home at last

Mickey, a very special cat adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexMickey is a very special cat, and one of our longest-ever residents. He was dumped at the Sanctuary with a note explaining that he had a polyp or growth near his brain. Thanks to the generousity of our supporters we raised around £1,000 to get Mickey treated - but while he was stabilised, he still had dodgy balance for a cat.

All this meant he needed a very safe environment with understanding owners who would look after him and make sure he didn't fall and hurt himself.

It took a while, but finally the right people came along! Mickey got in touch a few days later to tell us all about it....

Mickey, a very special cat adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexHey guys,

It’s me, Mickey. I left the Chestnut Cat Sanctuary about a week ago to live with my new friends Andrea and Alan.

I settled into my new home straight away. Alan and Andrea are very nice and I give them lots of kisses and cuddles.

I had so much fun exploring during my first weekend here, and now I’m doing my best to try out all the sleeping spots I’ve found around the house.

Mickey, a very special cat adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexOf course, lazing around isn’t the only thing I do here.

I love running up and down the hallway in the morning and batting around my toys.

I’m also becoming an expert at catching moths!

Mickey, a very special cat adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexI’ve been out on my lead every day apart from when it rained.

I enjoy being able to sniff around somewhere new. I’ve even tried to make friends with a group of ducks that waddled into the garden!

Alan helped me put up some pictures from my adventures:

Lots of love,

Mickey

It's wonderful to hear how you're getting on Mickey!
