Pansy - she found the perfect home at last!

Pansey, a beautiful tabby girl adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexSometimes we have cats staying with us for absolutely ages without finding someone to adopt them - even when the cat is totally adorable! Here's a letter from Jenny and Nick, who found a very special companion indeed in the form of Pansy, who'd been with us for months!

Hello to everyone at Chestnut Cat Santuary,

We adopted Pansy on 25 October 2008. She had been with you for quite a long time, so we thought you would like to know how she is getting on in her new home.

Pansey, a beautiful tabby girl adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexShe is a very shy girl, and took a long time to settle in properly. We followed the advice on your website, and tried not to worry too much when she didn't eat for the first few days and just wanted to hide in a corner.

We spent the first couple of weeks sitting with her under tables and behind the sofa so she could get to know us and feel reassured.

It has been very rewarding to see her go from the shy, stressed cat that we brought home to the happy and confident cat that she is now. We feel very lucky that she trusts us enough to come when we call her, and she likes nothing better than sitting between us on the sofa in an evening and having a good fuss!

Pansey, a beautiful tabby girl adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexPansy is a beautiful cat, and is very good natured. I don't know why she wasn't adopted earlier, but we are very glad that she wasn't and that we were the ones who got to adopt this special little girl.

Thank you,

Jenny, Nick and Pansy Littlewood

Thanks so much for your note, and fab photos. We don't know why it took so long either - maybe she was just waiting for the right people to come along!
