Treacle Doe

Treacle, a cat finally adopted from Chestnut Cat Sanctuary in EssexTreacle is one of those rare cats who spent ages at Chestnut Cat Sanctuary not finding a new home to go to.

We had no idea why, because he was a real charmer and a lovely, friendly boy. But now we realise just what he was up to: he was waiting for the right family to come along!

Treacle was adopted by the Doe family at the beginning of May 2008 (or perhaps, they were adopted by Treacle). They wrote to us soon after to let us know how he was getting on:

Hi Everyone,

Just a few pics of Treacle to let you see how he is settling in to his new home ‘we share with him’.

Treacle blends into his surroundings...He is getting to know us all and is very content. He had a quiet night but was pleased to see us this morning.

He came out of the carrier as soon as we got home and was eating within the first 15 minutes, no problem there.

This morning we introduced him to the stairs and landing and he has now taken up residence on the top stair.

Treacle discovers the garden... patience is a virtueI think he knows there is someone still in bed.

Will keep you informed of his progress - thanks a lot to everyone there, we love him loads.

Sounds like you and Treacle all made the right choice!

Treacle settles in after finding a new home at Chestnut Cat SanctuaryWe're so happy he's got stylish new home to suit his debonnaire character, and that he's found a loving family at last.

Thanks to you all for your message and pictures.
