Mickey needs an experienced owner who can give him a very safe environment to live in.
Regulars to the Sanctuary probably recognise Mickey. He was dumped here as an 8 month old with a note explaining that his owner couldn't afford the vet bills. He did need a lot of treatment, because he had a growth near his brain that was badly affecting his balance.
Thanks to the generousity of our Sanctuary supporters, Mickey got the treatment he needed. This stopped him getting any worse, but it has left him with a 'head tilt' and his balance will never be as good as a normal cat.
All of this means that Mickey cannot be allowed to roam like a normal cat would. He is young and active, and desperate to go outside, but in a normal garden environment he will just fall and injure himself. What he needs is a home with an enclosed run or a properly cat-proof garden where he'll come to no harm
In return, he will be an utterly loyal, fun-loving and friendly companion for life. He's full of beans, and when you meet him he can get a bit carried away playing with you and scratch - he doesn't mean it though! He's only desperate to play and enjoy life "on the outside". He's a smashing boy who just needs an experienced and caring owner.
Mickey should not live with cats or dogs, but with older children (10+) he should be fine. He arrived here on 13th August 2008. |

K was originally from Theydon Bois: she went missing, and eventually turned up down the road in Epping. But her owner, when contacted, said they couldn't take her back. So here she is! K is a friendly girl with a happy nature, but she's just as content to do her own thing. She has a very pretty coat and lovely eyes, and should be fine living with older children who'll respect her occasional need to do things by herself! She arrived here on 18th May 09. |

Cat No: 5604
Name: Billy
Age: 12

Billy came to us from Billericay - his owner was moving house and couldn't keep him. He's a unique character: very affectionate but a bit nervous of strangers (so he needs a bit of time to get used to you) and very talkative too. Oh, and he has 3 legs, because he was once hit by a car. Silly Billy! Billy is a flat cat only, and should not live with other cats, or with dogs. He should be fine, however, with older children - 8+. He arrived here on 2nd December 09. |

Cat No: 5886

Age: 18 months

Muffin came to us from Loughton: she was discovered by someone moving into a new property, and though they took her in they couldn't keep her. Muffin is a very sweet girl but she really doesn't like other cats, so at the moment she's not very happy being with us (surrounded by cats in other pens, the poor thing!) Muffin will probably need a bit of time to settle into a new home and feel safe and wanted. She doesn't get on with cats or with dogs, but should be ok with older children who'll understand when she needs some space: she can bite if she's upset. Muffin arrived here on 13th April 09. |

Lucky is a big, beautiful black and white boy who is everyone's buddy (if you're a human!). From the Isle of Dogs originally (how ironic!) he was taken to a vet as "unwanted" - we don't know why because we don't know his history beyond that. However we do know he's a very friendly fella with lovely whiskers and a lovely loud purr; he doesn't show much interest in going outside, so could be a flat cat; and he might appreciate a quieter home. Lucky should not live with dogs. We originally thought he doesn't get on with other cats but he's currently getting on fine with a young tortie girl, so maybe it depends on the cat! He should be fine with older children - 8+. |

Hmm, not quite sure what's going on the names here! Anyway, this is an 8 year old tabby boy from Newbury Park - he's been a much-loved cat but his elderly owner could no longer look after him. He's a very loving boy but a bit shy - ideally he needs a quiet home, but when he gets to know you he'll be very friendly. Just a bit nervous at first, perhaps! Missy shouldn't live with other cats, or dogs, but should be fine with older children, 8+. Arrived here on 17th April 09. |

Age: 13

Tiggy is a fantastic tabby and white boy who might be 13 but is still full of beans! He was found as a stray in Newbury Park and was taken in by an elderly person, who sadly can't look after him any more. Tiggy loves people and is a real lap cat - he's very friendly and approachable and he has nice shiny teeth 'cos we had them done for him! Tiggy gets on with children and cats, but shouldn't live with dogs. He arrived here on 17th April 09. |

This pretty little tortie girl hasn't been very well treated - and she's only one. Originally from Seven Kings, her owner moved house and left her behind, while pregnant. A neighbour found her with her kittens in a shed. Because of this somewhat unhappy start to life she is a bit shy and scaredy, and will need a little bit of time to settle into a new home. With a patient owner and lots of TLC we think she'll soon come around! She gets on fine with other cats and dogs, but is probably a bit too nervy to live with children. She arrived here on 27th April 09. |

Originally from Chigwell, this boy's owner just decided they didn't want him. He's a very friendly fella who likes a cuddle. His previous owner said he was too clingy, which is a bit strange because most people prefer affectionate cats... He just likes a bit of attention and fuss - a real lap cat! As a result he would suit an owner at home most of the time. While he doesn't get on with other cats, or dogs, he should be fine living with children. He arrived here on 5th May 09. |
