Adopt a single cat

Adopt, rescue and rehome cats and kittens in Essex, London and HertsMeet our single cats for adoption! While these cats came to us alone, most can be adopted with another single cat, or move happily into a home with an existing cat. We can advise you on the best mix & match.

There may be cats available we haven't yet advertised on these pages. You can always contact us to get the latest information.

  • Before you visit, please read our adoption process & Donation fees pages.
  • Photos are taken shortly after a cat arrives. PLEASE allow for the fact that they had just moved in, and might not have been at their best!
  • We update each cat's profile as we get to know them. Sometimes it's hard to assess their nature until they've settled in -  so it's worth checking cats you've seen before, for the latest information on their personalities.
  • If you're looking for a specific type of cat (age, temperament etc) please contact us and we'll let you know if something suitable comes in. We keep "Cats Wanted" requests for 3 months.
  • When adopting a cat to go with an existing cat, it's a good idea to match their ages as far as possible. For instance, a 3 month old kitten would drive a 12 year old mad! Compare ages to humans here!

Cat No: 1
Name: SINGLE CATS
Age: UPDATED 18th November
Sex:
Neutered: N
Likes Other Cats: Y

Every Monday, after a busy weekend finding homes for cats, we book in new cats to come to us for rehoming.

There are loads of new cats coming in the next week.

WATCH THIS SPACE FOR NEW ARRIVALS!
Cat No: 557
Name: Simba
Age: 18 months
Sex: M
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: Y

Simba's a pure white boy just 18 months old. He came from Woodford Green and was a much loved cat: his owner simply couldn't afford to keep him (they had lots of other cats too). He likes a groom and a fuss, and would be a good family cat we think. He enjoys climbing onto a nice warm lap and falling asleep, so even though he's quite young he's already got his priorities right! Simba gets on with other cats, and with children, but shouldn't live with dogs. He arrived here on 18th November 08.
Cat No: 5392
Name: Beanie
Age: 3
Sex:
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: Y

Beanie is a lovely whiskery black and white girl who came to us from Walthamstow - her owner had too many cats!. She's a nosey and fun-loving 3 year old who's very playful, and would suit any home. You can see from her picture that she's thinking hard about just what's going on! She gets on with cats, and children, but shouldn't live with dogs. Beanie arrived on 8th September 08.
Cat No: 5475
Name: no name
Age: 3
Sex: F
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: N

This little black and white lady came in with kittens, and had probably been made homeless while pregnant. We don't know too much about her, except that she's quite calm and laid back, and is a friendly girl who likes her food and loves a fuss! She doesn't really get on with other cats, or with dogs, so she should be an only pet. But she should be fine with children. She arrived on 22nd October 08.
Cat No: 5518
Name: no name
Age: 2
Sex: F
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: N

This pretty tabby girl has had a hard start to life. She became pregnant and her owner didn't want her any more. She's had her kittens now and needs a safe, secure home where she'll be loved. She might take a little while to settle in but she's a sweet girl who's fairly independent (so would suit a working owner). She doesn't get on with cats and shouldn't live with dogs - but she should be fine with older children, 8+. Originally from Ilford, she arrived here on 29th October 08.
Cat No: 5542
Name: Ki
Age: 11
Sex: F
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: N

Ki is a beautiful silver tabby girl who was originally from Theydon Bois. She went missing and eventually turned up in Epping - but when her owner was contacted, they were unable to take her back again. Which is a real shame because she's a lovely girl who likes nothing more than a nice warm lap! She's a little nervous after arriving here but we think, when she has settled, she'll be a lovely friend for a caring owner. She doesn't like other cats, or dogs, but should be fine with older children, 8+. Ki arrived here on 11th November 08.
Cat No: 5574
Name: Fluff
Age:
Sex: M
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: N

Blimey, Fluff by name, fluffy by nature! This long-haired fella came from Woodford Green, from an owner who loved him lots but couldn't afford to keep him any more. He likes a fuss and also enjoys pottering about in the garden (although as far as we know, he doesn't do anything useful, like weeding). One of his more endearing habits, though, is... boxing! He loves playing fisticuffs with you - claws in, of course. A loving lap cat when he gets to know you. Fluff should be ok with children but should not live with cats or dogs. He arrived here on 18th November 08.
Cat No: 5576
Name: Tiger
Age: 2
Sex: M
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: N

Tiger by name... but not really a tiger by nature! This tabby and white boy is quite timid, but he does come out of his shell (and indeed, his basket) when he gets to know you. He loves being groomed and fussed, and would suit a quieter home as an only pet. He came here from Ilford on 18th November 08 because his elderly owner passed away.
Cat No: 5578
Name: Jess
Age:
Sex: F
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: Y

Jess is looking a bit scraggy and scared in her photo, the poor thing! She's another cat from Woodford Green who was much loved by her previous owner. She's a talkative girl with quite an independent nature - but she does like being groomed and fussed, and will happily sit on your lap to make it happen! A note, though - when she wants something she tends to attract your attention by rubbing round your legs in the traditional cat stylee. But quite vigorously - so she really wouldn't be suitable for someone who's not so mobile (an elderly person, perhaps). We wouldn't want her making someone fall over just because she fancied a bit of fuss. Jess gets on with other cats and should be fine with children, but should not live with dogs. She arrived here on 18th November 08.
Cat No: 5579
Name: Fatty
Age: 8
Sex: M
Neutered: Y
Likes Other Cats: N

Fatty might seem like a bit of a cruel name for a cat, but... well, you have to admit, he's a big fella! He came from Woodford Green - his owner couldn't afford to keep him any more. He's a gentle giant who likes a stroke and a fuss. He loves his food even more - a bit too much, in fact, and his new owner will need to keep an eye on his weight, and help him become a little more streamlined, perhaps! He doesn't get on with other cats, and shouldn't live with dogs, but he should be fine with older children, 8+. He arrived on 18th November 08.
